NewGate School is a Montessori school which serves children from ages 18 months through High School. An integral part of the Montessori curriculum and philosophy is that of establishing lasting peace through the appreciation of the natural world and for the diversity of cultures across our planet. “Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war.”  Dr. Maria Montessori


Our elementary students have formed a group called “Greenassori.” Their purpose is to educate our school community and the community at large about caring for our planet and conserving our natural resources. Some of them will be leading activities for children that are fun and that bring awareness to our earth and connecting with nature. “Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”  Dr. Maria Montessori


In addition, on both Saturday and Sunday our Early Childhood teachers and students will create an outdoor classroom and will demonstrate how a Montessori class works at 10:30am and 1:30pm. “If education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man's future.
